This group is a collaborative effort to facilitate research into the history of a particular Y-chromosome that found its way from North Africa to the Trent River Valley and the Peak District of Britain. Through both documentation of family histories and the developing citizen science of genetics, we have found that our DNA tells a strange and unique story of Berber Brittons who survived the tumultuous times of invasion, disease and civil war. From the green grass of the Dove River Valley to the mines of Luturdarum, to positions of power in the church , Britain has been home to us for 2000 years.
